We’re having some people over this afternoon and all but one party has called to confirm. Because we’re so untrustworthy that we always invite people over and then leave just before they are due to arrive (eyes are rolling).
We’re not doing the typical backyard barbecue today. We will be leaning heavily on the grill though. Last night we stayed up past my bedtime and prepped everything. We have lamb and pork marinating in a greek marinade, chicken marinating in mustard, garlic and rosemary. We hard boiled some eggs for deviled eggs. They just need to be put together this afternoon.
We made two pasta salads. One with regular pasta and one with gluten-free pasta. Both have tomatoes, fire-roasted red pepper, olives, fresh parsley, garlic and olive oil. I’ll add some feta later today. We also mixed up our version of tsatziki (it was the quick version without draining the yogurt). And, we’ll be grilling some potatoes and vegetables as well.
We’ll be shooting off some fireworks later in the front yard since the backyard is torn apart with the porch project. Speaking of which, pictures of our piers are over in the House Proud section. All of them haven’t been built yet but you should be able to get the general idea.
Sounds delicious! We could be there in a couple hours!
Looks like you have the “blog children” thingy going on again with double posts.
Come on down!
Yep, I was having problems connecting to the VPN and updating at the same time. Even with the ubergeek in the house some things just don’t work the way they are supposed to.
I’m jealous that your dinner yesterday included so many things out of your garden. Our tomatoes are just starting to turn and our jalepenos are about ready for the picking.
