Holding Pattern

We’re in a slow time at work after the crazy pace of May. One of my co-workers said that she was so bored that the murder mystery on her desk wasn’t even appealing to her. I pointed to the stacks of old documents that another co-worker gave me, as she was cleaning out her office, as something for me to sort through and decide if I wanted to read. The work. It overwhelms! She scrunched her face up and said, “I hope you won’t be so bored that you’ll leave us.”

To counter-act that thought, I decided to finally bring in some personal objects for my space. I guess only having a handful of items on my desk made folks a little nervous that I could grab everything, throw it into my bag and be gone in minutes.

Speaking of being gone in minutes(clever segue), the company that I used to work for, and mentioned at least once here as a pack of idiots, had their 401K provider mail me information about the plan. The plan for a company I haven’t worked for in 6 months and a plan that I never joined in the first place. My theory of pack of idiots survives even from a distance.
