Recently we went to Acacia for dinner with some friends. Everyone else had coffee after dinner. I didn’t because I actually like sleeping at night. Everyone raved about the coffee and the waiter talked to us about the brand, illy, and how to get some for our very own. He seemed pleased that we use a french press at home. The french press is great for a variety of reasons but it is especially good because it makes about 4 cups of coffee and that’s perfect for us.
I ordered two cans of medium roast espresso whole bean coffee from illy and I really hope the friends who went to Acacia with us aren’t reading this right now because one of those cans is for them and it is a surprise. Surprise D&J!
The cans arrived yesterday in a regular cardboard box with nothing to cushion them. If you ever played Kick the Can as a wee one, then you can imagine what those cans looked like when I opened the box. The can we’re giving to D&J is slightly less dented and that’s why they are getting that one.
We made a pot of coffee today at the office using a regular Mr. Coffee. The coffee is surprisingly smooth and yummy. I’m really interested in what it will taste like tomorrow morning fresh from the french press.
You never told us, how was the coffee the next day?
Really good. Some of the smoothest coffee I’ve ever drank. We’re using the coffee as “treat” coffee…if that makes any sense.
