Beneath the wheel I cannot slow its rotation down

With the time change (I know, get over it already) and the relentless beating we seem to be getting at work, I’ve been exhausted every night this week. I was supposed to have Friday off but my personal plans changed a bit, and as such I decided to go ahead and take off since it’s nearly impossible to take back a leave slip after submitting it. When I told my supervisor about the change in plans, she jumped on having me come in for an afternoon meeting. I couldn’t tell her that I was still planning on taking the day off because see the above reference to relentless beating. We’re all tired of being poked by the stick.

So, I’ll go into the office in the afternoon and then reschedule those 4 hours of leave some time soon.

I looked for a song about being exhausted and found this one by Joseph Arthur. I like him in spite of once seeing him in concert where it seemed like the whole time he was worried about his tape machine and not about the audience.

Edited to add:
Ended up at the office all day Friday and my boss neglected to invite me to the meeting that she insisted I come in for…the time was nebulous and she didn’t bother to let me know when or where it was. I was a little hot. GRRRRRR.
