Yesterday afternoon it stopped raining enough for us to walk around and take some pictures.
We went around the side of the porch and startled a bunny:
We checked on the garlic:
The kale has rejuvenated nicely in the cold frame:
The forsythia we planted last year is about to burst out in yellow:
The first daffodil has three blooms:
We’ve been feeding this stray a few times a week for months. He usually backs up into the woods and then waits for me to go back in the house before he’ll come out to eat. Yesterday we sat on the back steps and out-waited him. This is him licking his chops:
We have crocus too but there hasn’t been enough sun for them to open back up. That’s about the size of our garlic too. No daffodils yet although the greens have pushed up through the leaves this past week. I got my asparagus ferns cleared off the patch and should be getting some poking through soon. I think we first noticed them about April 1st last year.
The better-half cleared out the asparagus patch the other day and I’m sure we’ll be obsessively checking to see when the first shoots begin. We’re so excited to finally be able to harvest this year.
