Once again, I’m embarrassed to be a Virginian.
Virginia Commonwealth University received a letter from Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli requesting that the Commonwealth’s public universities and colleges rescind policies that ban discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.
The University’s senior leadership team and I are examining the issue closely. Provost Gottfredson is planning forums to provide students, faculty and staff an opportunity to discuss the implications of the Attorney General’s request.
It’s still 2010, isn’t it? We didn’t just jump back in time to 1955, did we?
WTF???
Yeah, the AG wants to make it OK to discriminate because there isn’t a specific law that supports not discriminating. I emailed President Rao to voice my opinion on the idiocy of that. There are meetings on campus tomorrow to discuss.
unreal…
I saw there was a nice protest at VCU today.
The governor pulled his head out of his butt and issued an executive order to hush up the AG. It makes me wonder what kind of political move/postering was going on. I’d like to know the Rest of The Story.
