So, this morning there was a SNAFU related to an email I sent on 4/14. You’d think in nearly a month that someone else would have decided to take care of the problem instead of waiting for a miracle to occur. As with most miracles, they are hard to predict so it’s just best to go ahead and take care of the problem when you find out about it.
Instead I get asked why I didn’t do more than I already did this morning–which was way more than I needed to do. I responded by saying I acted as a stop gap to get us over the immediate bump and didn’t see the point in me alerting the media that there was a problem since I did that a month ago and had been giving continuous updates in the meantime. I did take measures to help with a solution to the problem but until the person who “owns” the course in question actually acts there’s not a whole lot I can do.
Just because I get to work early and am frequently the only one anyone can find doesn’t mean that I have to do a bunch of crap because I have enough to do with the courses I “own”. I’m not my unit’s keeper.
I am way too frustrated by incompetence or lack of giving a shit–I work in state government and should be used to it by now.
