Let’s Recap The Suckage

I applied for a job with a well-known national health insurance company on 7/2. On 8/11 I got a call about it. I was on vacation. I called the hiring manager on 8/12. We set up a phone call for 8/18. I called her and we set up a phone interview for 8/22. I called 3 times on the day of our interview and sent an email. BLOWN OFF. I called on 8/25 and left another message. Today in my inbox the KISS OFF email from HR’s automated system arrived. I blew a gasket. It’s been awhile since I worked in a recruiting office so if it isn’t actually illegal to have someone in the candidate pipeline and close the job, it is highly unethical. Not to mention a load of CRAP. I emailed the closing notification to the hiring manager and said something about how I was surprised that I was dismissed before I could even talk to her. I also said I was writing a letter to the EVP of HR to complain about the crappy way this whole thing has gone down.

I received a responseĀ from the hiring manager. Turns out she’sĀ not dead, but just an incompetent dumbass. Who didn’t apologize for blowing me off and said I need to do what’s best for me and that she’s sorry that I’m so offended. So offended? No I’m ENRAGED. She also called and left a message at home. The place I’m not. This really ticks me off because she had all of my phone numbers and she chose to call me at home during the WORK DAY, when I’m working. I emailed her back and said I’m not interested in the position and I’m not interested in working for you since you blew me off, didn’t apologize and acted like an incompetent dumbass. I asked her how she would feel if I treated her this way and she was the job seeker. Of course I didn’t actually call her a dumbass because I find that dumbasses generally don’t like being called out as such. I was firm, but professional. My letter to the EVP goes out tomorrow.

I decided to let a little metal soothe my soul:
