They Were Drinking From A Fountain, That Was Pouring Like An Avalanche

The infusion has begun:

The better-half had a great idea on Sunday to use an old Maker’s Mark bottle to infuse vodka. So, we cleaned up the bottle, ran it through the dishwasher and started the Jalapeño infusion today. We’re using triple distilled Smirnoff and five Jalapeños from last year’s garden.

Yes, that was a hella big bottle of Maker’s Mark.

You two must be bloody mary drinkers? What else would you make with a jalapeño infusion? I’m intrigued!

We do like Bloody Marys. I’m not sure what else we’ll do with it since we don’t drink Bloody Marys all the time.

We saw that someone on the internet had infused bacon…I can’t imagine what you’d do with that.

    Gag!

I found this recipe that sounds pretty good:

    1 1/2oz pepper vodka
    1/2oz simple syrup
    1/2oz fresh lime juice
    2oz pineapple juice

Shake ingredients cold and serve in a martini glass. You get a sweet, fruity pineapple flavor up front, but then the fire kicks in, and you get the slow burn in the finish. It’s a trip.

That sounds really good. We’ll have to try it.
