The sky spit out ice last night. Not a lot but enough to slow down the morons who normally double the speed limit in our neighborhood. County schools are on a two-hour delay. I’m taking a half day today so I can go to the doctor, and so when faced with ice, I decided to stay at home today. For the record, I don’t work somewhere that it’s okay to just not show up for work. I’d already alerted my supervisor that if there was ice, I’d be working from home.
The only task I had planned for work today was to sit in on an all day webinar. I can just as easily connect to that from home. It’s interesting, though, that I’ll have to find a really long phone cord to drag the phone to my computer. There’s no way I’m not using the speaker phone.
Update: The new doctor is awesome. I’ve never laughed so hard at a doctor’s appointment in my life.
School was canceled here today although it’s not too bad out. It was icy overnight and it snowed some, but it’s foggy now so it must be warming up. Have a nice weekend!
Thanks. I hope you have a great one too.
Is this a new endocrinologist? I have yet to find a good doctor in this town. I had one, who after I spent an entire weekend suffering the ill affects (gory details) of a wrongly prescribed antibiotic (my sister is a doctor and she told me this antibiotic is prescribed for skin infections. I had a sinus infection) told me to remind him next time I am prescribed a med, to not include the insert listing side affects. Asshole!
No this is a general practitioner/family doctor. The group we had used for years just plucked our nerves–surly office staff, no one answering the phone, see a different person in the practice every time you go there, etc.
I actually like my endo. I’ve been going to him for years. It’s funny, but a friend went to him for awhile and despised him. He’s always been attentive and good at explaining things.
The doctor and nurse practitioner I see for my annual GYN visit are also great (they switch off–sometimes I see the doctor and sometimes I see the NP).
