Today I’m off from work. The director of our department gives everyone a free pass in the month of their birthday. I’ve taken care of some mundane tasks that are normally weekend jobs…like grass cutting and vacuuming. The real fun begins at 11:30. I’m having lunch with a friend. I’m not sure where we are going but it should be swelligant.
Speaking of food, last night we feasted. We had grilled Mediterranean lamb sausages, zucchini and a mushroom, onion and garlic risotto. It had been a long time since I made risotto and I usually use a recipe but I winged it last night and I have to say it was pretty awesome. I reconstituted some dried mushrooms and finely chopped them so there was pervasive woody nuttiness all through the risotto.
