I’ve been on-site at the contracting job for the past two days and, really, I feel like I’ve been in a cave. I have no knowledge of the outside world except the snippets I hear on the car radio.
For the record dickcheney scares me more than any terrorist threat. Is he a fear-monger or what?
My grandmother has to have part of her colon removed. The surgery is tomorrow evening at 6pm. Good thoughts are appreciated.
The better-half got a Dell laptop today. I have completely held my tongue and not said, “Dude, you’re getting a Dell”. It is sometimes a struggle being me.
Last night we had dinner at Acacia with our friends D&J. Oh my goodness the food was righteous. I’ll try to list the food:
D: beer-battered anaheim chili peppers with a lovely sausage/cream cheese filling, scallops with gnocchi and spinach. I’ve had that before–awesome. For dessert: maple financier cake and coffee.
J: lobster bisque with crabmeat, crab cakes with asparagus, potatoes and a bacon sauce. For dessert: coffee creme brulee and coffee.
better-half: lamb sausage with roasted red peppers, pine nuts and raisins, sea bass with mashed potatoes, fingerling potatoes, asparagus and corn with some bacon mixed in. For dessert: grand marnier and coffee.
me: poached egg over potatoes and black truffle, halibut with pesto orzo and slices of grilled shrimp. For dessert: lemon napoleon.
We shared a bottle of Pinot Gris.
My sister and her husband already have their power back. That’s right–a freaking huge storm rolls over their house less than a week ago and they have electricity already. We were without power for 10 days last year and that storm hit land in North Carolina and came on up for a visit. Who has the better prepared power company?
Fascinating entry today, eh?
