Because I Can

Websites that annoy me are those websites that aren’t maintained. Especially websites in support of daily or weekly newspapers in the Richmond area. You know who you are. You are lame.

I stop by Movable Type’s home page to check out recently updated blogs and skim websites to see if there’s something out there that catches my fancy. Should I get over myself when I see a list of the most craptacular music on someone’s site? Isn’t it always “to each his own” with me? Apparently not, since I stop reading and decide there’s no way that I could enjoy their site if they listen to that CRAP.

Twice last week one of the local teevee stations had glaring typos on their morning newscasts. I was so annoyed I had to stop watching. I haven’t gone back. I’m already in-hate with one of the morning anchors. Anchors who let off deep heavy sighs while reading the news and on-screen typos really yank my chain.

While I’m on the subject of news anchors, one time years ago the better-half and I were watching the local evening news, and we still run around today cracking on this: one of the news anchors pronounced heroin as “heron” and Church Hill as “churchill”. What birds and former prime ministers have to do with a drug problem in a Richmond neighborhood is beyond my ken.
