And she puzzled and puzzled ’till her puzzler was sore.

I have an interesting project to work on where I have to figure out how to deploy technical training to a population of workers who are over 60 and may have no computer skills. These workers will eventually get classroom training but that’s a whole other kettle of fish which will be dealt with later.

I need to work on the prerequisite for that training. Our team wants to make sure that this population of trainees understands certain basic computer concepts and develops certain computer skills prior to attending classroom training.

If you think about it, how do you get a population, which may have no computer skills, to complete an online tutorial? If they don’t use computers, how will they navigate to the online tutorial (can I assume that this population even knows how to use a mouse)? At least I know they have access to computers so I know that they can physically sit down in front of a screen. That is about all that I know is certain.

The twist to the whole thing is that there is also a population of workers who will be attending the classroom training that is adept at computers. Talk about trying to strike a balance.
