My sister, The Niece and I went shopping today and we bought hardly anything. The Niece got a cute new bathing suit and I got a set of lamps from IKEA. I’ve been searching for lamps forever…really, it has been ages and I found some at IKEA. It figures that the store that has what I want is more than 50 miles away. While we were doing a quick rendition of does this shade look good with this style of lamp, a woman walked by and said “that’s cute” and so I knew I’d hit pay dirt. When a stylish woman who doesn’t live in the sticks gives you a “that’s cute” you have to go with it. At least that’s what I’m going to say if the better-half doesn’t like the lamps.
I’ve been looking for lamps for years because the ones we are using as bedside lamps were the “guilt” lamps my parents gave me after they kicked me out of the house. You should have seen the couch and chair. It is true that it would have been months of sitting on the floor if they hadn’t given me the couch and chair but really a blind man would have said “man, that’s a loud pattern”.
We had a really good time and The Niece slept nearly all the way home. I wish I could sleep in the car like that but I haven’t been able to do that since I was knee-high to a grasshopper.
I wish I could tell you some funny stories about shoppers but everyone behaved until I stopped at the grocery store on the way home. It took 4 attempts to get everything from the produce aisle since lots of zombies were studying bags of lettuce for an overly long time. Hey Old Man, it’s lettuce…move on.
