We met with someone from B-Dry this morning and we’re scheduled to have the work done to our basement in a couple of weeks. I’m thrilled. That means we can finally start using that space down there and it means I’m one step closer to having the washer and dryer in the basement instead of the garage.
B-Dry has a solution to save one of our window wells down there and while the actual window itself will eventually be replaced it is great to know that we’ll have some natural light in an otherwise dark corner. The corner will be a laundry/exercise room some day.
The garage wall that is below grade will also be treated and we’ll have a gravity drain so no worries with sump pump locations or what happens if we lose power. The brilliant thing about the gravity drain is that its cost and the cost for the sump pump are identical…the gravity drain needs no maintenance or replacement–unless, of course, we lose gravity. Which would really suck.
