This weekend we had lunch at our favorite deli and as I was exiting the door a man in his mid 40s to early 50s pushed past me on his way in and he actually pushed me into the door. I said “you couldn’t have waited a minute” and as I was standing on the sidewalk waiting for the better half the rude dude stared at me like I was the one in the wrong. I was all “bring it ass-wipe” (by my facial expression only) but his poor beleaguered wife just pushed him towards the counter. I’m SICK to death of the boomer generation treating everyone else as if we were put on this planet to kiss their ever-expanding asses. I’m thinking some major karmic payback will hit in a few years when they are strapped to their wheelchairs, drooling and asking for mama.
On to nicer, happier thoughts…we went to the symphony on Saturday night. The first little ditty was from Grieg’s Peer Gynt. When the orchestra finished, the crowd went nuts. Eckart Preu, the conductor, rocks and so did that selection. Woo man it was awesome. Then we were treated to a guest cellist, and I’m sorry to report that I’m not a fan of the composer Samuel Barber. While the cellist was talented, I couldn’t wait for that segment to get over and done…nothing about the music (concerto for cello and orchestra) pleased my senses. After intermission we listened to Symphony No. 3 in C major by Sibelius. Very nice indeed.
