We have a slew of concert tickets tacked to the bulletin board in our home office. First up is a 4 artist concert (Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin, Dar Williams and Patty Griffin). I’ve seen Mary Chapin and Shawn before and really hope Shawn does Wichita Skyline. The other two I like but have never seen live. I think it will be a great show.
The next one is Lyle Lovett. We’ve seen him before too but the time we saw him the venue was so hot that I actually had to fight a nap-attack. I know, can you believe it? Our seats are better this time (not near the back wall) so I’m looking for a wide-awake good time.
Then we see John Mayer. We’ve seen him before too and he gives a pretty darn good live performance. It doesn’t matter that I’m a good 10 years older than his target audience (based on what we saw last summer). I’m particularily thrilled though about this concert because The Thorns are opening. The Thorns ROCK. I really think they have one of the best new albums this year.
Before you go thinking that I’m only about the folksy folk, I was listening to Oakenfold’s Tranceport today while dusting.
